New Lead Designer and Deployment 8
New TR Lead Designer Tom Potter gave a state of the game address in the 2 May 08 Feedback Friday. On crafting he had this to say:
In other news, there are no obvious crafting-related changes in Deployment 8, now on the Public Test Server. There is a known issue with weapon mods appearing on and able to be added to tools, but those will be addressed in a future publish.
"I think the entire team agrees that the crafting system needs a major overhaul, and I don't think many of you would disagree. We have a preliminary design of the improved crafting system, but to be frank we haven't had the resources to implement the changes yet. But rest assured, there is a plan to make the crafting system more accessible and rewarding."This supports what Dev_Critters said back in TabulaCast 18.
