The future of AFS soldiers and AFS Uplink

So with the recent announcement of Tabula Rasa shutting down, which left me very dissapointed in NCsoft (to put it nice), i have been thinking about what to do with AFS Soldiers and AFS Uplink.

First up, the podcast, AFS Uplink, i can no longer motivate myself to spend a couple of hours each weekend to record and edit a podcast.
I am sorry to those that liked the podcast but i feel a podcast like this needs dedication and time and right now i would rather spend my time gaming than doing a podcast that i am no longer motivated to do.

Been doing it for 10 weeks and i have loved every minute of it and to be honest i wasn't sure i would pull it off :)

Second the site, AFS Soldiers.
I will not remove or delete the site, so the site will remain, with all the work and effort put into it by you it wouldn't be right.
The only things that will change are some of the "premium services".
Right now i am paying for those and most of them i will remove, like:
Removing of the Ning promotional links ($7.95 per month), removal of the ads by ning ($19.95 per month) and using our own domain name ($4.95 per month).

What does this mean?
You will see the ning promotional links, ning will put google ads on the site and the site url will change to http://afssoldiers.ning.com (for example http://www.afs-soldiers.com/profile/Hauntshade will change to http://afssoldiers.ning.com/profile/Hauntshade)

The domain names (www.afs-soldiers.com, www.afssoldiers.com, www.afsuplink.com, www.tabularasaplayers.com) will still forward you to this site as the domain names are registered and payed for up to 2010

I will probably cancel the premium services before the end of this month.

Thanks to all who helped making this a nice little community, i know TR is not dead yet, but (right now) i just don't feel like playing and putting effort/time in it when i know it's going away.
Ii's probably my anger/dissapointment that's speaking right now, but that's just how i feel :(

I am very sad to see a great game, probably the best mmo i have played in years, go away for (IMHO) lame reasons. I definatly feel like i have lost my main mmo, i just don't get the feeling i get while playing Tabula Rasa in any other mmo out there right now.

I still have hope someone else will pick this game up and run it again after NCsoft closes it, but looking at what happend with Auto Assault i fear this probably won't happen.

Sorry about this post being so long but i really wanted to let everyone know what going to happen to the site before it happens.

I just want to thank you for creating this site. This is one of the best fan sites that I've seen for any game. I'm glad to hear that you won't be immediately closing it.
